2013 Nash Cup Saturday Final

The 2013 NASH Cup finished with an incredible evening of squash in front of a sold out crowd. The scores (listed below) do not do justice to the equality of the play. A distinct lack of “let” calls from Shawn Delierre (CAN; 38) was discussed following the match (as well as on twitter feeds). About eight requests for the entire match. Shawn’s commented that Joe Lee (ENG; 38) made great shots removing the necessity of making calls.

This was the first time a NASH Cup final was completed in 3 games, but it took over 45 minutes and provided great entertainment. It’s also the first time the trophy has been won by an English player meaning the trophy will now sport six different flags on the front. Perhaps next year we will see our first repeat winner.

Thank you to all who support this spectacular event. NASH Cup committee members; sponsors; ticket holders; billets; LSFC members and staff; amateur entrants; media partners; online viewers around the world; and the squash professionals who came from far and wide. It was a wonderful week.
